PACKING EVENTS - Feeding Children & Families

Packing events, whether in person or virtual, brings together businesses, civic organizations, churches, trade organizations, schools and community volunteers who work together to pack shelf-stable meals. These meals are distributed to children, families and seniors suffering from or at risk for hunger. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for food has risen exponentially and the demand increases daily. In response to the increased demand and concerns for pandemic issues, Hunger Fight is now offering a new format: virtual events.


Hunger FightFor many who volunteer, working a Hunger Fight packing event is an entirely new and different experience. It is a chance to participate in 2 ½ hours of organized chaos that is enthusiastically amplified by energetic music and bell-ringing. A motivated team can fill and package tens of thousands of meals. Each table of ten works assembly-line style with macaroni, rice, beans, oats, soy, brown sugar, vitamin-enriched seasonings and our special cheese blend to produce and package Hunger Fight meals. Each of the table positions are given a singular task to do (scoop the seasoning; seal the bag, pack the box, etc.) in assembling the ingredients to make, fill, seal and produce cases of Hunger Fight breakfast and dinner meals.

With tables competing to see who will ring the bell the most times, these events are team-building and fulfilling!


Due to the unprecedented impact of the COVID19 pandemic, Hunger Fight has added a new way you can help meet the needs of our community. In addition to our packing events, Hunger Fight now offers the opportunity to participate in a virtual event

These events offer you the opportunity to continue supporting your community during these difficult times. You may provide a spokesperson to represent your company and share video with virtual event volunteers. You are also encouraged to provide your branding materials to place in the background to capture during live-stream video. If desired, you can also provide a few key volunteers to participate and Hunger Fight will provide the remaining volunteers. Your event will have live-stream videos during the event (beginning, middle and end), with social media announcements and posts. Through your donation of money, time and talent, you can help feed a child, a family or a senior.


Through donations received from various partners, supporters, organizations and grants, Hunger Fight periodically invites community volunteers to our warehouse to help us pack meals for inclusion in our Feed the Backpacks program and for distribution to children, families and seniors at risk for hunger. Scale A Packing Event To Any Size

Hunger Fight can scale a packing event to cover as many people as a host organization might want to bring in to pack meals: 1) for donation to a local food pantry; 2) to provide weekend meals to Title 1 elementary school students through our Feed the Backpacks program; 3) to ship to families in areas of natural disasters (e.g. hurricane relief), or 4) to donate to Hunger Fight to use in meeting community needs to eliminate hunger or provide disaster assistance.

Whether it’s 50 employees in a conference room, 150 teens in a gymnasium, or a global sales force of 500 assembling at a major conference center, we will set up as many tables as YOUR event needs.

Hosting Commitment

Hunger Fight does not receive government subsidies, nor do we work with donated food. Hunger Fight is unique in that we produce the meals that we distribute. We purchase all of the raw ingredients used in our packaged meals. Accordingly, event partners will be required to make a financial commitment, based on the number of meals you desire to package, to host an event. As Hunger Fight is an IRS designated 501(C)3 nonprofit organization, your donation may be tax-deductible (please check with your own accountant for deductibility). Your event can be staged at your location or our warehouse.

The minimum commitment to host your own packing event on Florida’s First Coast (within 1.5 hours of downtown Jacksonville), is $3,500. This sum will produce 10,500 meals and provide 350 books for preschoolers. A minimum of 30 to 50 volunteers will be needed to produce the meals over the course of the 2 ½ hour event.

Using our Miracle Math, events can scale up in size to as many as 800 or more volunteers packing 200,000 meals; all, in just 2 ½ hours.

We love to travel to new areas and have staged events from Miami, Florida to Madison, New Jersey to Salt Lake City, Utah!
