Valdosta Inaugural Community Outreach Event

June 28, 2022

One of Hunger Fights’ priorities has always been and will always be to expand into additional areas where there is a need. Our goal is to increase the number of children and families we are able to help by providing our meals and books. We recently expanded into the Valdosta, Georgia area. Ritchie Pickron, our Valdosta Area Development Director, has been working around the clock to ensure our meals and books go to those in the Valdosta area who need them most. On April 30th, we held our Inaugural Valdosta Community Outreach packing event on the beautiful campus of Valdosta State University. This event was beyond just successful and we couldn’t be more excited or more grateful. We would like to thank each and every person who participated in and supported this event, from our Valdosta Community Partners to the students who volunteered to come pack meals. 77,616 meals and 3,300 books found their way to the children, families, and individuals who face hunger, food insecurity, or illiteracy in the Valdosta area due to the success of this event. From the entire Hunger Fight team, THANK YOU to all who made this event possible.

We look forward to many more Valdosta Community Outreach packing events in the years to come.
