Inaugural St. Nicholas Philoptochos Tarpon Springs Packing Event

The team here at Hunger Fight loves to travel. Late in February we loaded up the van and trailer and headed over to beautiful Tarpon Springs, Florida, home of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. We were joined by the Philoptochos ministry who’s mission “to aid the poor, the destitute, the hungry, the aged, the sick, the unemployed, the orphaned, the imprisoned, the widowed, the disabled, the victims of disasters,” aligns with our mission perfectly. This group of 52 volunteers packed 15,624 meals and provided 500 books. This event benefited the less fortunate in the Tarpon Springs community. Some of the recipients include Metropolitan Ministries, Shepard Center, Tarpon Springs Elementary, Middle, and High Schools, and Feeding the Fosters. This was a lovely group of people who were excited to give back.
